I asked this little girl from the favela what her message to the world is and she replies: “This is a cool place and you can make lots of friends” and then calls her friends across the entire mountain valley to come play.
Her purity touched my heart. What she said was true, you can find friends and connect with people EVERYWHERE.
Even in a slum.
Even in a favela.
Many people, even the locals in Rio fear and pay little attention to favelas often due to the story they’ve been told on repeat via media.
Truth is we’re all humans and yes there are dangers, but with precaution and the help of locals, you’ll find lots of hidden beauties all around the world, especially in the places you least expected 💜
